Resume
Prof Sandip Roy is a faculty of the Department of Chemical Engineering at IIT Bombay. He obtained his undergraduate degree in Chemical Engg. From IIT Kharagpur, and MS from University of New York, Buffalo.
His research interests include Supercritical Fluid Processing, Colloidal and Interfacial Engineering, and Chemical Process Risk Assessment. He has authored over 35 research papers and has worked as a consultant in all the above areas. He also has been an advisor on Process Safety to several organizations.
For his work on the development of Supercritical Fluid Extraction Technology, he has been awarded the NOCIL Award for Excellence in Design/Development of Process Plant/Equipment (IIChE, 1997), and the P K Patwardhan Technology Development and Transfer Award (2001).
His other interests include: Impact of Globalization on the Indian Industry, Industry-Academia Interactions, and Strategies for Management of R&D. He has lectured on these subjects at various forums, and has authored a number of articles in these areas.
He is currently the Editor of IIT Bombay’s R&D Magazine UPDATE, and heads the institute’s Information Management Cell.
